UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) — Russia's contribution to the resolution of the Syrian conflict must be political, rather than military, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said Thursday.
"Instead of lone decisions of individuals, lately by Russia, to take direct military action in Syria, we need now Russia to take political action advocating transition in Syria that would be an important contribution towards overcoming the stalemate, for this stalemate is a lethal one, which claims new lives everyday," Steinmeier said, addressing the UN General Assembly.
