STRASBOURG (Sputnik), Daria Chernyshova — "Most important is that we share the burden in Europe. No country can handle this without help and solidarity from other countries. In Switzerland… so far, the situation is under control," Doris Fiala, the head of the Swiss delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), said.
The Swiss lawmaker added that there was no migration or asylum seeker chaos in the country, although the situation was difficult.
According to Fiala, Switzerland has built a new test center in Zurich to accommodate refugees, and the government is trying to "accelerate the whole procedure for the refugees."
The refugee crisis, with hundreds of thousands of refugees fleeing violence and poverty in the Middle East and North Africa, has turned into one of the most divisive issues in Switzerland ahead of an October 18 parliamentary election.
