PARIS (Sputnik) — Russia, Syria, Iran and Iraq agreed last week to cooperate on security and intelligence sharing in Syria.
"A lot of time during the talks was devoted to the Syrian issue. Putin informed his French colleague on the progress of the operation and the mechanisms of information exchange between regional powers concerned that are implemented by the Russian Federation."
"He [Putin] talked about the coordination center in Baghdad and urged other countries to contribute to it at will," Peskov added.
On Wednesday, Russia’s upper house of parliament approved the use of armed forces abroad following President Putin’s request. The Russian Defense Ministry said Russian combat jets launched their first precision airstrikes on Islamic State positions in Syria.
