MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier today, Aden TV channel reported that Yemen had decided to break off relations with Iran. Yassin has confirmed the report.
"We are long overdue to break off relations with Iran," Yassin was quoted as saying by Sky News Arabia.
The foreign minister noted that Yemeni authorities had been hoping for Iranian policy changes amid recently lifted sanctions.
Arab countries have accused Iran of supporting the Houthi rebels in Yemen, the Hezbollah militant group in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
