“After signing the additional package of measures on withdrawing tanks, mortars…and artillery of less than 100mm from the line of contact by the opposing sides [of the conflict], the OSCE observers now have the task of verifying this process,” Zakharova said during a briefing.
She said that there are currently less than 600 in Ukraine and that Moscow is calling “for an increase in the number of the special monitoring mission to its allowable number of 1,000 in accordance with its mandate.”
"Unfortunately, we are witnessing continuing shortcomings in the work of the [OSCE Special Monitoring] Mission. First of all, we are talking about objectivity in the provided reports. We wish to draw attention to the inadmissibility of selective statements of facts, not only when counting arms, but also in relation to conditions under which residents of Donbas and the rest of Ukraine live," Zakharova added.
