MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Rosneft’s Integrated Research and Development Center (IRDC) has developed a unique technology and put into operation a pilot installation to synthesize a one-of-a-kind petrochemical catalyst.
The new technology has already received Russian and international patents.
“The low cost and high performance characteristics of new polymers make them more competitive than polyester and epoxy resin-based materials, the majority of which are imported for use in aircraft and auto-making, engineering, construction and many other industrial sectors,” the company says.
These materials can be used under normal and extreme temperature conditions and are suitable for various oil-production, construction, auto, aircraft, power, aerospace and marine civil and military-purpose machines and mechanisms. Introducing domestic technologies to produce premium-grade base oils will significantly reduce the Russian lubricant market’s dependence on imports.
In addition, IRDC scientists have developed a new line of highly-refined mineral oils – white oils. These oils can be used in medicine, veterinary medicine and the food and textile industry. In terms of their physical, chemical and immunological parameters, they are superior to their foreign analogues, which is vital for biological goods production, particularly vaccines.
