MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The deadly shooting took place at NAU Flagstaff campus, the university said. It added the situation had "stabilized" and the alleged shooter had been taken in custody.
"Details confirmed 4 victims, 1 fatality, 3 wounded. Shooter is in custody. Situation is stabilized. Campus not on lockdown," the statement read.
The shooting attack comes just a week after a 26-year-old gunman had opened fire on campus of the Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, in the US state of Oregon. Ten people, including the shooter, were killed and seven injured.
In an address to the nation later that day, US President Barack Obama once again demanded tighter "common-sense" gun laws.
