German authorities criticize Russia and are ready to financially help Kiev in implementing reforms and fighting corruption, at the expense of its own taxpayers.
According to the website, Kiev recently aggravated the conflict with Moscow, adopting a new military doctrine, which labelled Russia as an enemy. Despite this, Germany blames Russia for the destabilization of the situation and is ready to allocate 100 billion euros for economic reforms in Ukraine, which in fact might never take place.
Moscow’s political goal is “to destabilize Ukraine and prevent its rapprochement with the EU", German politicians from the ruling CDU/CSU parties argue in their new strategy paper. The German government should oppose it by all means and help Kiev to carry out successful reforms and fight against corruption, the politicians claim.
The document, however, contains only one-sided criticism towards Russia, no critical assessment of the Kiev policies. It does not say a word about the fact that the country is ruled by an oligarch and that Poroshenko’s attempts to turn his country into a "military state" would not help much in carrying out necessary reforms, NEOPresse wrote.
