TEL AVIV (Sputnik) — The attack took place in the bus at the entrance to Jerusalem.
"Police eliminated a terrorist who tried to seize a weapon from a soldier, slightly injuring him," the police press service said in a statement.
Earlier in the day, two teenage Palestinians attacked and injured an Israeli man before stabbing an Israeli teenager riding a bicycle, severely wounding him. One of the attackers was shot dead by police while the other was wounded and taken to a hospital.
Since the beginning of October, over 20 Palestinians and four Israeli nationals have been killed in clashes.
The core of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is essentially a struggle over land and diplomatic identity. Palestinians seek to create a diplomatically recognized independent state on the territories of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, according to the frontiers that were in existence before the 1967 Six-Day War.
