Further Probe Into MH17 Crash Useless Because Investigation Biased

MOSCOW (Sputnik), Svetlana Alexandrova — The investigation into the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 crash should be continued only when it is no longer politicized and biased, a member of the Defense Commission at the French National Assembly told Sputnik on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the Dutch Safety Board (DSB) published the findings of its probe into the July 2014 crash of a Malaysian airliner, saying the plane crashed as a result of a ground-to-air missile explosion near the left part of the plane. The DSB said an additional forensic investigation will be needed to establish the exact location of the missile launch.

"The truth about who fired the missile will be impossible to find out during further investigation as the current probe proves to be politicized and, therefore, biased," Nicolas Dhuicq said.

He added that in order to uncover the truth the probe should get all radar transmissions of the area, however Kiev had not yet supplied the probe with sufficient information.

“In order to bring down a plane flying at these heights with the missiles mentioned in the report, you need well-trained people because it is not a small missile launched by infantryman,” Dhuicq continued, in support of his claim that accusations against independence militias in eastern Ukraine for bringing the plane down are biased.

On Tuesday, the Moscow-based Interstate Aviation Committee proposed that plane crashes with huge casualty numbers be investigated under the auspices of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 crashed in the eastern Ukrainian region of Donetsk en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur on July 17, 2014, killing all 298 people on board.
