ASTANA (Sputnik) — It is essential to use the advantages of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) to alleviate current economic problems, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said Thursday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Astana on Wednesday evening for a two-day state visit. The two leaders held a bilateral meeting earlier in the day and agreed to cooperate on a number of issues.
“We understand that it is necessary to take active coordinated actions at the national level, as well as within the Eurasian Economic Union. We need to use the reserves to alleviate economic problems…,” Nazarbayev said during talks in the extended format.
The EEU, including Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, is an integration association, for the free flow of goods and services between its member countries.
