MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Newly appointed Israeli Ambassador to Russia Zvi Heifetz will take up his duties in Moscow in early November, Israeli charge d’affaires in Russia Alex Goldman-Shayman told Sputnik on Friday.
"The new Israeli Ambassador to Russia intends to come to Moscow in early November. His name is Zvi Heifetz. The Israeli government appointed him just a month ago," Goldman-Shayman said.
Previously, Heifetz served as the Israeli ambassador to the United Kingdom and Austria.
According to Goldman-Shayman, Heifetz was born in Tomsk, speaks fluent Russian and knows a lot about the country's culture.
