Syrian military officials reported army and popular forces, backed by Russian air support, took control of southeastern territories of the northern province of Aleppo after killing and wounding dozens of terrorists in the liberation operation.
The Syrian Armed Forces stated that their troops' operations were successful in Balas, al-Zahmoul hill, al-Dabaghat, and al-Shahid hill, and led to the town of al-Huwayjinah and its surrounding areas' full recapture.
Later on Saturday, Fars news reported the destruction of IS positions in Palmyra and in the surrounding area of Jazal by Syrian army troops, resulting in tens of deaths and dozens more injured.
Syrian government troops began a large-scale operation north of the central Syrian city of Homs on Thursday morning, leading to the liberation of two villages there.
