MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Eurasian Economic Commission is a permanent regulatory body of the Eurasian Economic Union — a Russia-initiated integration association aimed at streamlining the movement of goods, services, capital and labor between its member states, namely including Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.
"We have a dialogue with [the Eurasian Economic] Commission. This is first stage, very first stage of the dialogue. I think that a possible relationship would be very desirable," Beltran emphasized.
According to the ambassador, the Eurasian economic bloc and Mexico represent vast markets that must cooperate in the future.
"We are talking about large markets. It is important, it increases the level of dialogue that is already happening, so I’m totally for it. Hopefully, we will find some common language in the future," he added.
"A strategic alliance in the field of energy between Lukoil and Pemex, Rosneft and Pemex or Gazprom and Pemex would be essential for us," Beltran said.
He added that "in the field of energy Russia is a giant, it produces 10,7 billion barrels a day, its output is enormous."
"But it is not only because of the volume, there are countries with huge volume but they do not have a technology and experience the Russian companies have," Ruben Beltran stated.
Since December 2013, Mexico has undertaken major energy reforms, and for the first time in almost 80 years the state-run oil company Pemex and the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) have been granted permission to make deals with private companies, attracting private investment in the development, extraction, transport and storage of oil, gas and electricity.
The Mexican Embassy in Moscow is preparing a visit of Eurasian Economic Commission Minister Tatiana Valovaya to Mexico in late 2015 or the beginning of 2016, Ambassador Ruben Beltran told Sputnik.
