Russia's Lider-Class Nuclear Destroyer Project Hits Pentagon's Raw Nerve
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Vice-Admiral Kulakov, an Udaloy-class destroyer, was commissioned in 1982 and saw duty with the Northern Fleet until March 1991, before being retired for over 18 years of repairs.

The ship returned to the Northern Fleet's main base in the city of Severomorsk in 2010.

"At first, the crew [of the vessel] is expected to work on interaction with deck pilots, who will perform landing on the helipad of the ship," Capt. 1st Rank Vadim Serga said.

Helicopter crews will work on submarine detection tactics using radar and sonar equipment.
