MOSCOW (Sputnik) — No Russian military personnel have been killed during Russia's operation in Syria, the Russian Ministry of Defense said Tuesday.
"Due to reports by foreign media about the alleged deaths of Russian servicemen in Syria, we declare: there are no casualties among members of the Russian Armed Forces in Syria," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
Earlier in the day, Reuters reported, citing a military source, that three Russians fighting alongside Syrian government forces had been killed in the war-torn country. Russia's embassy in Damascus described the article as apparent disinformation.
