WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker will fly to Ukraine to advocate for further reforms of the country’s economy, the US Commerce Department said in a release.
"US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker will travel to Ukraine from October 26-27 as a continuation of the Obama administration’s sustained commitment to supporting the Ukrainian government and people, and helping strengthen the Ukrainian economy," the release read on Friday.
The Commerce Department noted that upon arriving in Kiev, Pritzker will meet with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and will discuss "progress on the country’s ambitious economic reform agenda."
Following her visit to Ukraine, Pritzker will travel to Germany on October 27-29 to discuss with German officials priorities in the US-German partnership as well as support for Ukraine.
