MOSCOW (Sputnik), Yulia Shamporova On September 24, Swiss authorities launched a formal investigation into Blatter on suspicion of criminal mismanagement and misappropriation.

"There is no impact on Switzerland’s reputation: FIFA is a private foundation and Mr. Blatter is a private person," Helg stressed.

FIFA has been mired in a large-scale corruption scandal since the US Department of Justice (DoJ) charged 14 people — including nine senior FIFA officials – with money laundering, wire fraud and racketeering, in late May.

Seven of the officials were detained on US DoJ warrants in Switzerland.

The scandal led to Blatter’s resignation days after he was re-elected to a fifth term not regarding earlier FIFA reports that he was not involved in the corruption.

On October 8, the FIFA Ethics Committee temporarily suspended the FIFA president and several other top officials from the football governing body for a period of 90 days.
