MONTEVIDEO (Sputnik) — Having voted in the presidential and parliamentary elections, Argentinian President Cristina Kirchner said she passes ‘a normal country’ and intends to remain among the political activists of her party after the elections.
"We managed to fulfil the promise to give all Argentinians a normal country…," Kirchner said.
The leader of the country added that Argentina's current distinctive features were economic growth and low unemployment rates.
Six candidates are running for presidency, including Governor of Buenos Aires Province Daniel Scioli, Head of Government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires Mauricio Macri and former San Luis Province’s Governor Alberto Rodriguez Saa.
President Cristina Kirchner, who has served two consecutive presidential terms, cannot run again under the Argentinian Constitution.
A presidential candidate must gain support of at least 45 percent of voters to win the elections.
