MOSCOW (Sputnik) — At least 121 people were injured after a ferry sailing from southern Chinese coastal territory of Macau to Hong Kong slammed into an unidentified object, local media reported Monday.
The Horta vessel of TurboJET ferry company with 163 passengers and 11 crew members went off Macau but hit the object near the southern Hong Kong Island of Siu A Chau in an hour, Hong Kong newspaper The Standard reported.
"Everybody was bleeding. They were thrown into the air. The lights suddenly went off. It was chaotic at first," a passenger of the ferry said, as quoted by The Standard.
The injured were sent to the Chinese hospitals and the authorities launched an investigation into the accident.
In November 2013, another TurboJET’s vessel hit an unknown object near the central Hong Kong Island of Hei Ling Chau incurring 87 people.
