The information comes amid a renewed wave of violence between Palestinians and Israelis, which broke out amid fears Tel Aviv was planning to revise the status quo at the Temple Mount, which houses the Al-Aqsa mosque, Islam’s third holiest site.
In response to this evening's rocket fire, the IAF targeted two Hamas terror sites in Gaza.

Palestinians want to create an independent state on the territories of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, partially occupied by Israel, and the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip, and want Israel to withdraw from the Palestinian territories it took after the Six-Day War in 1967.
Israel has long accused Hamas, a Palestinian Islamic political organization and the de facto authority in Gaza, of carrying out bomb and rocket attacks in Israel and in the occupied Palestinian territories of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
