Two-thirds of likely voters in the United States say the country is on the “wrong track”, according to a new poll released by Rasmussen Reports on Monday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Only 27 percent of likely voters say the United States is heading in the right direction, according to the poll, while 65 percent think the country is on a wrong course.

The number of people that view positively the direction of US politics has increased by 3 percent relative to the record low of 24 percent earlier in October, the poll revealed.

At the same time, the US voters are split in their evaluation of the performance of President Barack Obama in office.

Forty-six percent of those polled support the actions Obama has undertaken, but 53 percent disapprove of his job performance.

Obama, a two-term Democrat, will end his second and final term in office on January 20, 2017. The next US presidential election is scheduled for November 8, 2016.
