Leader of the Serbian Dveri movement Bosko Obradovic said Tuesday that he was proud of his visit to Crimea, in spite of the danger of falling under the pressure of Western countries.

SIMFEROPOL (Sputnik) — On Monday, a delegation of Serbian politicians from the Patriotic Block, including the leadership of the Democratic Party and the Dveri Movement, arrived on a three-day visit to Crimea. The Ukrainian Embassy in Serbia handed the group of Serbian lawmakers a protest note over their visit to Crimea.

“What now seems a problematic issue — to come to Crimea — may soon become a prestigious moment… In connection with our visit to Crimea, we have nothing to fear, but on the contrary, we can even be proud,” Obradovic told journalists.

According to Obradovic, many European political parties now realize that Europe has no future without Russia.

Despite a 96-percent favorable vote to rejoin Russia by Crimean citizens in a March 2014 referendum, Kiev and the West called the reunion illegal. EU governments continue to pressure lawmakers to avoid visiting the region.
