MOSCOW (Sputnik), Daria Chernyshova — Pekka Viljakainen underlined that US and European investors were involved in multiple Skolkovo-led projects.
"We have had a whole project as international Skolkovo project. Surprisingly, the sanctions and economic situation did not affect at all the basic contracts. If you take the US or EU sanctions, science and entrepreneurship is out of it," he said on the sidelines of the forum in Moscow.
Skolkovo university, Skoltech, was established in cooperation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and additional higher education institutions are slated to collaborate with Skoltech in the near future, including Finnish and German universities, Viljakainen added.
Moscow is hosting the Open Innovations Forum with the support of Skolkovo Foundation from October 28 to November 1.
The Skolkovo Innovation Center project was launched in 2010 with the aim of modernizing the Russian economy and increasing the manufacturing base for high-tech products.
