On Thursday, Russia called the United States Embassy in Moscow to clarify US claims that Russian airstrikes in Syria have caused civilian deaths. The Embassy has not replied.
"These [Russia's] actions, unfortunately, are being resisted, first of all by informational means, when false information is being spread that the Russian military operation in Syria is leading to civilian casualties," Kosachev said at a meeting with representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
Russian has been conducting airstrikes at the Islamic State jihadist group positions in Syria at the request of President Assad since September 30.
Earlier in October, Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riad Haddad confirmed that Russian airstrikes in Syria are only carried out against terrorist targets and have not caused civilian deaths.
