CHISINAU (Sputnik) – The Romanian government will gather for an emergency meeting over the tragedy in Bucharest night club, Romanian Minister of Health Nicolae Banicioiu said Saturday.
“At 12.30 p.m [10:30 GMT], an emergency government meeting will be gathered. National mourning will be declared,” Banicioiu said.
A huge fire broke out in the Colectiv night club in Bucharest on Friday night during a rock concert. According to media reports, fireworks, which were part of the band’s show, ignited the decorations of the club, triggering explosions.
Some 27 people died and over 200 were injured following an incident.
The minister also noted that many people were hospitalized in critical condition.
