According to Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities Nohad El Machnouk, Lebanon is currently in the emergency situation due to the refugee influx, as the country has so far accepted more than a million of refugees from Syria.
According to the Jordan representative, there are now some 1.4 million of Syrian refugees in the country, which is a serious burden for the economy.
"To understand, how such a great number of refugees affects the situation in Jordan, one can imagine that 17 million people have arrived in the United States at the same time, it is necessary to come out of this situation as fast as possible," the Jordan representative said.
"Turkey has accepted 2.2 million of refugees from Syria, and a matter of their return should be settled as fast as possible, otherwise, the political solution to the Syrian conflict would't be necessary, as all Syrians will be living outside the country," Demirer said.
Several countries of the European Union, as well as Syria's neighboring countries are currently dealing with a massive refugee crisis, as hundreds of thousands of people flee conflict-torn regions in Syria, seeking asylum elsewhere.
According to the most recent UN data, the Syrian civil war has killed some 230,000 people and displaced over 13 million, making it the largest humanitarian crisis in the world.
