DAMASCUS (Sputnik) — The Syrian army has liberated eight villages in the southeast part of the northern Syrian Aleppo Governorate from terrorist groups in the past two days, a military source told Sputnik on Sunday.
"Today the army has liberated two villages — Shalashil and Tel Dadeen in the southeast part of Aleppo Governorate", the source said.
He added that the army liberated six villages on Saturday.
Syria has been mired in a civil war since 2011, with government forces fighting on multiple fronts against opposition factions and extremist groups, including Islamic State.
