Iran has begun implementing its nuclear agreements, including reducing the number of centrifuges in the country, Iran’s Vice President Ali Akbar Salehi said Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On July 14, Tehran and the P5 + 1 group of countries, comprising Russia, the United States, China, the United Kingdom, France and Germany, signed a nuclear deal, according to which Iran is expected to guarantee the peaceful nature of its nuclear activities in exchange for the lifting of sanctions against the Islamic Republic.

“We have started the preliminary work,” Ali Akbar, who also heads Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, said in an interview with Japan’s Kyodo news agency.

During the last negotiations between the two countries that took place in Iran in October, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif and Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida agreed to begin cooperation in the sphere of nuclear security.
