CAIRO (Sputnik) – Baggage handlers at the Egyptian Red Sea resort airport where the doomed Russian airliner departed from have not been questioned by investigators, a source in the Sharm El-Sheikh airport told Sputnik on Monday.
"The working team of baggage handlers that prepared the Russian aircraft is operating normally, nobody questioned them," the source said.
Alexander Smirnov, Kogalymavia deputy director in charge of flights and production, said at a press briefing on Monday there was no reason to mistrust the Sharm El-Sheikh airport security luggage inspections. He said Russian personnel were exclusively involved in servicing the Airbus A321 aircraft before takeoff, and no Egyptian technicians were involved in inspections.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi suggested earlier the ongoing multinational investigation into the causes of the accident may take months to conclude.
