Over 400,000 Support Independent Probe Into US Bombing of Kunduz Hospital
NEW YORK (Sputnik) — The international humanitarian organization Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) staged a rally in New York on Tuesday to commemorate victims of the deadly October 3 bombing of an MSF hospital in the northern Afghan city of Kunduz and demand an independent investigation into the tragedy.

"One month since U.S. airstrikes killed at least 30 people, including 13 staff members and 10 patients, at the MSF Trauma Hospital in Kunduz, Afghanistan, MSF continues to demand answers as to how a fully functional hospital could have been repeatedly targeted and bombed," the organization said in a statement obtained by RIA Novosti.

Executive Director of the US MSF division Jason Cone took part in the Union Square rally. Participants carried placards saying "Even War Has Rules," the motto of the rallies that the organization also held in other cities, including Brussels and Rome.

On Monday, a petition calling for the support of US President Barack Obama to launch an independent investigation into the deadly bombing of the Kunduz hospital in Afghanistan by US forces exceeded 400,000 signatures.
