WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Trump and Carson are tied at 24 and 23 respectively within a margin of error, according to the poll. US Senator Marco Rubio comes in third place at 14 percent, US Senator Ted Cruz comes in fourth at 13 percent, while former Florida Governor Jeb Bush is in fifth place at 4 percent.
“One year before Election Day 2016, Dr. Ben Carson is virtually tied with Donald Trump as strong front-runners for the Republican nomination, and Carson tops former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton 50-40 percent in the final face-off,” Quinnipiac University stated.
In a matchup between Carson and Clinton, the poll also revealed, Carson would receive 50 percent of the vote while 40 percent of likely voters would vote for Clinton.
On October 27, a CBS/New York Times poll showed Carson leading Trump and other Republican presidential hopefuls.
