MADRID (Sputnik) — On Wednesday, some 2,300 soldiers from 12 countries took part in infantry drills in Spain’s Zaragoza. The demonstration exercises lasted an hour, and included actions simulating attack postures.
Some 400 representatives of NATO states and other countries observed the drills.
Approximately 36,000 personnel from over 30 NATO and partner nations are participating in the NATO Trident Juncture drills from October 3 to November 6 in Spain, Italy, Portugal, as well as in the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
The exercises have triggered protests in the countries in which they are taking place.
