Multiple Fatalities After Blast at Romanian Nightclub
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Tuesday, about 25,000 gathered in the center of Bucharest, urging the government to take responsibility for the Colectiv nightclub's tragedy that claimed lives of at least 32 people.

"I do understand the legitimate anger in the society. People need more. It would be a mistake to ignore. I am ready to make this gesture. As of today, I am stepping down as prime minister," Ponta said in a statement circulating in local media.

Earlier in the day, Liviu Dragnea, the leader of the Romanian Social Democratic Party (PSD), confirmed the prime minister was due to resign.
