KIEV (Sputnik) – The vote was supported by 235 lawmakers, surpassing the required 226 vote minimum.
The Open Skies accord was signed by Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment Catherine A. Novelli and Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Andriy Pyvovarsky on July 14.
The deal seeks to broaden the range of international passenger and cargo flights by reducing "government interference in commercial airline decisions about routes, capacity and pricing," according to the US State Department.
The United States has signed Open Skies agreements with 115 countries.
