"Due to the current situation on the Sinai peninsula, the Lufthansa Group is suspending commercial flight operations with Sinai as a precaution. The Lufthansa Group will consult on how to proceed in close contact with the authorities," it said in a statement.

On October 31, an Airbus A321 operated by Russian airline Kogalymavia, crashed in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula. All 224 people on board were killed in what has become the largest civil aviation disaster in Russian and Soviet history.
Several major international airlines, specifically, Air France, Flydubai, Lufthansa, Air Arabia and Emirates, have announced decisions to suspend their flights over Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula after the crash of the Russian aircraft.
