WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The TransCanada Corporation is hoping a Republican US president that may succeed Barack Obama will approve the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline, advocacy group Center for Biological Diversity Climate Media Director Patrick Sullivan told Sputnik.
"TransCanada rightly feels the tide has turned against Keystone XL and now the company trying to delay any decision on the pipeline in the hope that a Republican president will approve it," Sullivan said.
On Tuesday, TransCanada announced it would delay its request to the Obama administration to approve the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline.
"The setbacks for this ridiculously risky pipeline are huge victories for the millions of Americans working to halt fracking," Sullivan said.
On Tuesday, Greenpeace USA Researcher Jesse Coleman told Sputnik that TransCanada Corp is trying to manipulate the process for granting approval for constructing the Keystone XL Pipeline.
