MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Lavrov held a meeting with UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Stephen O'Brien.
"The Russian side also raised the issue of inadmissibility of using questionable information on alleged civilian casualties as a result of the Russian Aerospace Forces operation against militants of Islamic State in UN official documents on the humanitarian situation in Syria," the ministry said.
Russia has been conducting precision airstrikes against the Islamic State militant group positions in Syria at the request of President Bashar Assad since September 30.
Western politicians and media have accused Russia of targeting the so-called moderate opposition factions in Syria and civilians. Russia and Syria have been continuously refuting these allegations.
