BERLIN (Sputnik) — German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said Friday that the results of 'Normandy Four' ministerial talks on Ukrainian reconciliation exceeded all expectations.
Foreign ministers of Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine met earlier on Friday in German capital, Berlin, to discuss the implementation of Minsk peace agreements, focusing on security issues.
"The discussions and the outcome of the 'Normandy Four' ministerial meeting turned out to be better than we expected," Steinmeier told a news briefing following the talks.
As a result of the talks, the conflicting sides could agree heavy weaponry pullout along the contact line in Donbas by the end of November-middle of December, and coordinate mine clearing operations in the conflict zone by the end of November, Steinmeier said.
