The Russian national hockey team beat Sweden 6:3 on Saturday in the second match of the first stage of the Euro Hockey Tour (EHT), the Karjala Cup in Finland.

HELSINKI (Sputnik) The Karjala Cup is taking place in Finland’s Helsinki between November 5 and 8.

The Euro Hockey Tour is an annual ice hockey tournament only open to the teams of the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia and Sweden.

The Karjala Cup, annually held in Finland, is part of the EHT, and is usually held in the first year of each EHT season. Since it was established in 1992, Russia has won the competition six times, while the most cups belong to the hosts.

On Sunday, the Russian national ice hockey team will play against the Czechs.
