MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Around 80,000 Russian tourists are currently in Egypt, while some 10 special flights had already been arranged to bring them home, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said Saturday.
“The number of tourists in Egypt has been updated. According to the updated data, there are some 80,000 people. The number is reducing, because there are scheduled flights from Egypt, from all the three cities: Cairo, Hurghada and Sram el-Sheikh to Russia. Some 10 flights had already departed,” Dvorkovich told reporters.
On Friday, Russia suspended its flights to and from Egypt until the inquiry into the A321 crash in Sinai is over.
