KIEV (Sputnik) — Speaking in a televised interview with the national channel Inter, the Ukrainian foreign policy chief said time was running out for the national parliament to pass 12 more laws ahead of a European Commission’s report on the fulfilment of the Visa Liberalization Action, due on December 15.
"We are pressed for time. There are only several session weeks left for the Rada [parliament]," Klimkin said. "This must be done… or else we may miss deadlines for the liberalization of the visa regime."
In September 2014, the Ukrainian Parliament ratified the Association Agreement with the European Union and pledged to adopt a number of key legislative reforms to meet the benchmarks set in EU’s Visa Liberalization Action Plan for this East European country.
