US President Barack Obama could have an informal conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the upcoming G20 meeting in Turkey, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said in a briefing on Monday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The press secretary noted that the White House will have Obama’s schedule for the G20 meeting “in the next couple of days.”

“I’m not aware of any planned meetings with Mr. Putin,” Earnest said. “I certainly would not rule out the kinds of discussions that we have seen in the past, where they were either in a hallway together or some other place where they have an informal opportunity to talk.”
