MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Russia Abdulrahman Al-Rassi have discussed the current situation in Syria, Russia's Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.
The meeting was initiated by the Saudi Arabian side.
"During the discussion, topical issues on the bilateral agenda were discussed, including in the context of the upcoming November 24-26 meeting of the joint Russian-Saudi Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation. An exchange of views on the Middle East took place, with an emphasis on the situation in Syria and around it," the ministry said in a statement.
