“If we see progress in the Kiev authorities’ effort to restore their control of the country’s border with Russia, which is a fundamental goal that cannot be achieved overnight, the sanctions must go,” the head of foreign affairs at the Bundestag, Norbert Roettgen, said during a foreign policy conference in Berlin.

Moscow has repeatedly denied any involvement in the Ukrainian conflict and said that sanctions "threaten international peace and stability" and run counter to the principles of international law.
