Lithuania requested 84 M-1126 Stryker armored fighting vehicles with ATK-made 30-mm cannons from the US with a total estimated price tag of $599 million.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified the Congress of the request last week.
Lithuania’s acquisition of the Stryker system would represent a major advancement in capability for the Lithuanian Land Forces, the Agency reported as citing by Defense News.
The request comes amid Lithuania’s effort to increase its defense spending by a third as the military conflict in eastern Ukraine has kept neighboring countries on high alert.
