Shooting Threat Against Missouri University African-Americans Posted Online
07:46 GMT 11.11.2015 (Updated: 10:35 GMT 06.08.2022) The University of Missouri in the US city of Columbia, following the resignation of the university head over campus racism, has been the recipient of anonymous threats in social media to shoot African-American students, local media reported Wednesday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Monday, university president Tim Wolfe resigned after calls from faculty and students for him to step down for a perceived failure to respond to complaints about institutionalized racism at the school.
Anonymous users posted threats of violence on Yik Yak social media on Tuesday, promising to attack "every black person" on campus later in the day, according to the USA Today newspaper.

Some students immediately left the campus after viewing the message, while many called on the university to cancel classes based on safety fears, according to reports.
University authorities stated that security has been increased but that there was no immediate threat to students on the Missouri campus.
The anonymous online violent threats come as the state of Missouri and the entire United States has closely watched multiple high profile cases of racial inequality and police brutality.
