CAIRO (Sputnik) — Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi arrived on Wednesday at the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh on an unannounced visit to inspect security measures following the crash of a Russian passenger plane on Sinai that killed all 224 people on board, the Egyptian television reported.
On October 31, an Airbus A321 operated by the Russian airline Kogalymavia crashed in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula on route from Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg. A terrorist act is widely considered as one of the possible causes of the crash.
