TEL AVIV (Sputnik) – The Thursday ruling lifted a temporary injunction on the demolition of the homes issued by Justice Uzi Vogelman last month, the newspaper said citing a statement from the panel of judges, headed by court president Miriam Naor.
The buildings to be demolished are the homes of alleged West Bank murderers and Hamas members, The Times of Israel said, adding that original demolition orders for the homes were issued after Israel approved anti-terrorism measures, such as the demolition of homes as a deterrent measure.
Israel has long accused Hamas, a Palestinian Islamic political organization and the de facto authority in Gaza, of carrying out bomb and missile attacks in Israel and in the occupied Palestinian territories of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
The United Nations has raised concerns about the recent increase in Palestinian home destruction by Israel.
