WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US President explained it appeared there was still "live activity and dangers" through Paris and therefore he did not want to speculate until Washington knew more from French officials and the situation was more "under control."
"I don’t want to speculate at this point in terms of who was responsible for this," Obama stated.
Obama told reporters that the United States was ready to provide France with whatever assistance would be needed, but he had not yet spoken with French President Francois Hollande.
Earlier on Friday, three separate attacks were carried out in Paris — a shooting at a Cambodian restaurant in the 10th arrondissement, another shooting at the Bataclan concert hall in Paris’s 11th arrondissement, and explosions outside the Stade de France stadium in Paris.
Meanwhile, at least 100 hostages are reportedly held at a concert hall in the city.
